Fundraising :The Management Committee are currently raising funds to refurbish the hall and update the facilities. An architect has been appointed and planning permission to re-clad the building with new insulated timber boarding has been obtained. We submitted an application for £235,000 to the Northern Rock Foundation in May 2007 under their Better Buildings programme. Sadly we recently recevied a letter from the Northern Rock Foundation setting out their proposal to close this programme at the end of the year. This means that our grant application will not be considered. We are therefore obliged to reconsider out fundraising strategy and hope to have a new plan in place by early 2008. Raising funds for a major project like this is not easy and we need all the help we can get. So now is the time to get involved by coming along to a meeting and telling us how to make the Parish Hall a better place for YOU. Tell us what you NEED and what activities you would like to see taking place in the hall. Remember this is a COMMUNITY building - the COMMUNITY have to get involved if we are to stand a chance of getting a grant! Lastly, please send us your letters of support - they are important. We would also be grateful for any donations towards the project or ANY offers of help! |
